Project Overview

My Lagos Community is a new digital guide built to help residents and visitors discover the best of Lagos. The platform brings together local businesses, restaurants, cafes, nightlife spots, cultural spaces, and events into one searchable experience. The goal was simple. Create a modern, trustworthy directory that helps people find what excites them, while giving local businesses a place to thrive.

My task was to design the entire website from scratch — the Home, listing pages, category pages, business detail screens, review system, and the overall browsing flow.

Objectives

  • Build a friendly directory platform that feels welcoming and easy to explore.
  • Make discovery effortless with categories, search, map-based browsing, and filters.
  • Create a visual identity that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of Lagos.
  • Allow users to view listings, read reviews, explore galleries, and contact businesses.
  • Give local businesses a clean, professional storefront within the platform..
  • Design a scalable system to support hundreds of listings and categories.

Visual Style

We combined clean, modern UI with subtle Lagos-inspired patterns, bright accents, and warm imagery. The result feels lively yet organized, capturing the city’s personality without overwhelming the user.

Outcome

MLC launched as a vibrant, user-friendly directory that helps people easily find where to eat, relax, explore, or shop in Lagos.
Local businesses now have a reliable digital storefront, and residents have a platform that makes discovery easier and more fun.

The design system is scalable, flexible, and ready to support future features such as booking, user profiles, loyalty rewards, community highlights, and location-based recommendations.
